I know that whenever I write one of these articles on Mixed Martial Arts I am going to get hate mail, but the truth is the truth, and one can only hope to rescue the misbegotten. That bit of humor aside, I actually love MMA, especially the UFC grudge matches. There is just enough Roman in me to enjoy the circus.

I am a terrific believer of the art of O Sensei Aikido. That art is definitely pure genius. And, there is a large flaw in it.

I walked into my first American Kenpo Karate dojo back in 1967. This was the Rod Martin variation of Tracys Kenpo, which was an offshoot of Ed Parker Kenpo Karate. Therein is the first problem with American Kenpo.

Monster, which offers many of Al’s works on their website, said the selection process was very easy. ‘Al not only has an extremely large body of work, but many of his writings are pivotal and will totally change the arts.’

Gonna be some different opinions on the Eight best Martial Arts books, but I would start off with Aikido and the Dynamic Sphere. Written by Adele Westbrook and Oliver Ratt, the writing is very descriptive, and the illustrations are possibly the best martial arts illustrations ever drawn. A large book, it covers the art in depth, and one gets the feel of how energy actually swirls in the doing of the art.

In this article I am going to tell you the three steps to building ki power through karate kata. This type of intrinsic energy is actually easy to generate, but I have never met an instructor who knew the secret of how to unlock the power. I don’t care if you study Japanese Karate kata, Korean Karate kata, Okinawan Karate kata, or whatever, the power can be built–you just have to know the three easy steps.
