Green Consulting As A Part-Time Career
I became interested in becoming an Eco Consultant about a year ago when I saw all the hoopla in the news about high energy prices and how clean energy initiatives were now a part of every community. Working with my third grade class at our local elementary school on eco friendly projects in our community really made me understand how I could make a difference so I started researching green and eco education opportunities on the Internet. My research led me to the Eco Institution which is an online green training course in becoming an Eco Consultant in one’s local community.

Following discussions with my husband and family I decided to move forward and take the Eco Institution course which took me about 3 weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and the structure and curriculum far exceeded my expectations. The course was thorough and I came away from it with a strong knowledge base and skill set which allowed me to set up my eco consulting practice.
The eco education course contained 15 modules and covered all of the green categories that actually matter for homeowners and small businesses. The tutorials were very self explanatory and as a teacher I really appreciated the layout, design and flow of the eco course. Upon completion of the green course I received a diploma from the Eco Institution that I proudly display next to my college and high school diplomas.
I needed a part time income to help supplement and support my family’s income and the Eco Consultant practice has helped me attain this. The small amount of money that I invested in the course has been made back multiple times over the past several months. The demand for green home consultations is certainly there as the market is vastly undeserved in my community because sustainable lifestyles are fast becoming more important to people every day.
I know that as a teacher finding a part-time opportunity that I could do in the evenings, on the weekends and during my summer break could add much needed income for my family. I’m also getting new clients from my eco consulting Face Book and Twitter pages every week.
Green courses such as the Eco Institution’s course are not easy to find and as ‘green’ education has exploded at colleges and universities across the world, it’s very hard to find simple and easy to understand Green and Eco courses. Mother’s like me are looking to acquire the skills to become green consultants and to help homeowners and small, businesses in their communities save money and help the environment. It is estimated that occupations in clean energy and sustainability will grow by an impressive 152% by the year 2013. The demand already exists as I have now conduct several home inspections per week and have conducted several green audits and inspections at businesses in my area which is adding much needed extra income for our family. Referrals have come in every week from customers and friends and my business is just now at level of comfort that fits my well with my family and provided the flexibility that I was looking for.
My family and friends are very proud of the fact that I’ve become an eco consultant in our town and the local newspaper has even asked to interview me about my green inspection business. Becoming an eco consultant is very important to me because it’s allowed me to follow my passion which also drove me to becoming a school teacher. Helping neighbors, friends and family reduce their carbon footprint has really touched the socially responsible side of me and am looking forward to continuing to grow my business.
Eco Consultants have been around for a long time but the time has finally come for it to be a “full blown” opportunity as the demand for sustainable living hitting all time highs. People are looking for ways to save money on their energy bills and to eat better food and reduce their carbon footprint. The Eco Institution’s course provide the best opportunity out there to become and become the local green expert and I ‘m happy to say that my Eco Consulting business has taken off in my community. The support for the green movement in the world has never been stronger.
