Men’s Fashion – Advice From An Expert

Concerning the basic fashion “looks” and occasions, there are three that every man should know. These include business attire or “day” wear, weekend clothes or “casual”, and, of course, evening or “night out” wear. You do not need a lot of money if you keep in mind some helpful tips.

Now, in more detail, here are some tips on how you can get it right every single time, no matter the occasion:

At Work – When you are at work you want to dress to impress. Often this means having several suits, dress shirts, slacks, and ties to work from. A suit exemplifies the working professional and you have to have a suit that is tailored to your frame. When a man wears a tailored suit not only does he look neat, but he also looks like he takes the time to care about his professional appearance. If he takes the time to do this, then he will take the time to do his job right. Your suit and the cut of your suit will speak volumes to your clients, co-workers and your boss. Getting a suit tailored may seem like a throw back to another time, but there is nothing worse than a good looking man in an ill-fitting suit. It just does not look right. Never underestimate the power of a well tailored suit. Also never underestimate the power of a nice pair of dress shoes. Make sure that your dress shoes complement your suit and do not stand out like a sore thumb. This too can make a huge difference on how you impact the people you work with.

Relaxed Casual – Jeans are one of the best choices for casual wear. They can fit into any situation with a casual style and ease. The fit and the wearer should be a match for the circumstances. Low hangers are not fashionable, as droopy drawers look clumsy, while skin tight is uncomfortable and looks trashy. Even the best pair of jeans will not fit forever or always look good. Worn, faded or holey may be the look for teens, but be sure to throw the old jeans away before they fall completely apart.

Night Out – For a night out on a date or simply hanging with the guys, you will need to upgrade from your regular daytime casual look. A very simple but stylish ensemble consists of dark denim, a button-down shirt, and some nice slip-on leather shoes. A jacket, like a structured blazer, adds a nice touch for cooler weather as long as it complements your overall look. Think twice before wearing bright colors or patterns, unless you are sure it is the correct look for you.
