One exception of 076xx numbers is 07624. Along with numbers such as 075xx, 077xx, 078xx and 079xx, all these Non Geographic Numbers combine to form mobile numbers. The rates for all these numbers are different and unknown to most of the people. International calls made by these numbers can be expensive.

Numbers with prefix 0842, 0843, 0844, 0845, 0870, 0871, 0872 and 0873 are generally used by government departments, and several other companies, and the call rates to these numbers vary from mobile as well as land lines. The 0900 prefix is used for premium numbers, and are generally used for competitions, chat facilities, home orders, and other such services.

The true costs of such number are not specifically declared to customers, as they would tend to reduce bulk calls, and thus reduce profits earned by organisations, which use them. Usage of non-geographic numbers in the world, and especially in the United Kingdom has become very common these days due to the large number of facilities provided by these numbers, and their varying call rates.
